WeLCom Open Courses provide WeLCom students with the opportunity for extra tuition or practise in certain subject areas.

Any WeLCom user can enrol themselves in the courses below.
Most of the open course have certificates which are automatically generated once all tasks are completed (100% is required for an activity completion). Students will be issued with three "tickets" for the termly draw for each certificate that they earn in the open courses.
Teachers are encouraged to make use of these for their classes.

This is a course is available to any WeLCom users. The "English Grammar Stage I" course is the first of two course that focus on the English grammar skills you need for secondary school. Participants will work through lessons and activities and be issued with a certificate on completion of the course.

- "Mathemoodlics 2010" is an interschool Mathematics challenge. Students can enrol themselves and take on any challenge they like as often as they like. Your highest score will be recorded. 2010 Challenges have been shortenend to 10 marks rather than the 20 marks in 2009.
Students can earn "tickets" for the termly lucky draw for two $20 Vouchers. "Tickets" never expire.

8489 (2 Credits) : Whole Number (without the calculator)
8490 (2 Credits) : Converting fractions, decimals and percentages.
5224 (2 Credits) : Using Decimals and percentages.
5227 (3 Credits) : Solve problems involving money

5228 (3 Credits) : Measurement Calculations
5229 (2 Credits) : Use geometry to solve problems.
8491 (2 Credits) : Read and interpret tables
8492 (3 Credits) : Use Measurement
This course will be made "open" (no password required) by the end of Term 1 2010. Those (teachers or students) who want to access it earlier than that can contact the ePrincipal.
