Please check your email addresses
by Anton Coltham Tchr - Thursday, 21 January 2010, 11:30 PM

Could all WeLCom users - both students and teachers - please check their email addresses they have on their profiles.

There are heaps of emails being returned to the administrator due to them being incorrect.

Student File Area
by Anton Coltham Tchr - Thursday, 21 January 2010, 11:29 PM

The "Student File Area" feature is now available again. This is an area within a course where students can upload their own files.

If teachers want to enable this feature in their courses then see the details in the staffroom forum:
http://www.welcom.net.nz/mod/forum/discuss.php?d=1185

If students feel that they need this feature in any of their courses then they can contact me

Forum Tracking
by Anton Coltham Tchr - Friday, 16 October 2009, 04:52 PM

I recently noticed that most users have "Forum Tracking" set to "No" on their profile. With our newer version of Moodle users must change this setting if the want to track forum posts. Being able to track unread forum posts is very useful and everyone (ESPECIALLY TEACHERS) are encouraged to enable that feature.

To do this
  • Click on your name in the top corner of the main WeLCom page.
  • Click "Edit Profile"
  • Make sure that the "Advanced Settings" are showing (there will be a "Show Advanced" button if they are not)
  • Change the "Forum Tracking to "Yes : highlight posts for me" (as shown below.
